The room was very basic, but it was spacious and comfortable. Everyone had a locker and there were enough charging ports to keep everyone happy. The location was very good as it's within walking distance of a few tourist attractions like Mount Victoria, Te Papa and the Wellington War Memorial. For other attractions which are further away, there are bus connections less than 10 minutes walk away. The bar/restaurant at the front of the premises is also quite nice and you get a small discount when eating/drinking there if you are staying onsite. All in all, it matched my expectations exactly.

Clean, tidy, well maintained property that exceeded my expectations. Excellent location. Very professional staff, polite and helpful. The small (single) room that I booked was fresh, well equipped and as shown on the photos. There was even daily room service, which I wasn’t expecting. The communal showers were always clean and fresh. The carpeted floors all over the walkways looked as-new. I believe this is really good value for money without compromising on quality or comfort!

The presentation of the hostel was great, amazing flow, bathroom area was great and it's nice to have powerful water in the shower, kitchen was always clean as it should be. The long term residents and staff are also very welcoming and great to talk to.the bunk room I stayed in wasn't cramped and over loaded. Also great having a sports bar/restaurant on site too, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Ishmael I think his name is the dark South African man is great value too.

The building is like 150 years old but it's very well maintained for its age. The room is spacious and quiet. Love the two pillows and comfy bed for single room. My room has a sink, kettle, fridge and TV and I found them useful and handy. Shared bathroom is bit dark but clean. The old lift works fine. Staff is attentive. Great location walking distance to a lot of attractions including Te Papa. It's cleaner and better maintanced than Waterloo (hotel with similar age)

Initially I wasn’t fussed HOWEVER once I settled in I came to really like it. The fact there is a kitchen provided is so good, especially as places I’ve stayed in overseas made you pay for their overpriced food they would offer if you wanted to eat in the hostel. The shower pressure was so good! The beds were comfy AND the location is amazing. It was pretty central and made walking to and from the CBD so nice and easy!
